"Presnitz"
This is a typical winter cake made with flaky pastry rolled round a filling of nuts, walnuts, pine nuts, figs, plums, apricots, raisins, grated chocolate, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and rum.
Easily distinguished by its characteristic spiral shape.
"Pinza"
Typical Easter cake made with leavened dough. The ingredients are flour, eggs, butter, abundant sugar, rum, grated lemon and orange peel, and vanilla.
"Putizza"
A cake made on the Carso with dough and a filling similar to the “Presnitz”. Rum, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg are among the ingredients.
"Strucolo de pomi"
This is the traditional Viennese Apple Strudel made with flaky pastry or shortbread filled with apples, cinnamon and raisins.
